In clinic, I regularly work with people who describe tight calves and sudden night cramps that disrupt sleep and leave lingering soreness the next day.
In many cases, cramps are associated with a mix of muscle fatigue, reduced lower-leg movement (especially after long sitting or standing), and sometimes hydration or electrolyte factors. The muscle can “lock up” into a painful contraction, and the discomfort often improves with gentle stretching and time. Certain medications or health conditions can also contribute, which is why persistent symptoms deserve clinical attention.
For appropriate individuals, Welliawell can be a supportive adjunct. Its combination of gentle EMS (to encourage muscle activation) and warming infrared (to add soothing warmth) may help relax tight muscles and support bedtime comfort when used consistently as part of an evening routine.
Seek medical evaluation if cramps are frequent or severe, last unusually long, or occur with one-sided swelling, red/warm skin, numbness, new weakness, or shortness of breath/chest pain.
